Evacuee Stories – Videographer required

Evacuee Stories is an oral history project funded by the National Lottery Grants for Heritage, which is being managed by a team of volunteers from the Connect Academy Trust in Plymouth.

The project is designed to capture the wartime account of 90 year old Iris, who was evacuated from the city of Plymouth to a Bodmin farm as a small child.  For 2 years, Iris has been visiting the year 3 children at Widey Court Primary School to share her personal experience, enriching the children’s understanding of this core topic immensely.

Funding has now been secured from the National Lottery Grants for Heritage to create a children’s book based on Iris’ lived experience, capturing it for generations of school children to come.  In order to start this process, Iris will be interviewed by a researcher and budget is available to film this process.  It is anticipated that a full copy will be provided to The Box and a short edited film will be provided to the Connect Academy Trust to support delivery of the topic.

This is a paid project with a modest budget, requiring someone to film the interview at some point during Oct, providing a full length version and a short edited film.  To be considered, please contact Sarah Holcombe by email to sholcombe@pca.ac.uk with your showreel by 30th September.
