EXPRESSION OF INTEREST - COVID-19 NATIONAL TESTING PROGRAMME

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST - COVID-19 NATIONAL TESTING

PROGRAMME

Following recent government advice, the College needs to make plans to begin rapid

Lateral Flow Testing (LFT) for asymptomatic staff and students in our post 16 Pre-

Degree centre from January 2021. When the scheme launches staff will be able to

have routine testing once a week; students and staff will be able to take ‘serial

testing’ if they are a close contact of a positive case in college.

We are looking for expressions of interest from our staff body to assist us with

delivering this national testing programme, you may be a proportional/part time

member of staff, Student Ambassador, Young Arts Club/Short Course Tutor,

Volunteer

or Alumni.  You will need to be able to commit to a number of hours/days per week,

currently we do not have this detail nor pay scales but will forward this when we know.

The roles we would like to receive expressions of interest for are:

Quality Lead/ Team Leader - Responsible for the overall on-site

operations at the test site, including day-to-day workforce management.

Ensure quality assurance, incidents, risks mitigation across the testing service.

Ideally this role would have some clinical governance experience (i.e. medical

professional/St Johns Ambulance/Red Cross or nursing background)

Test Assistant - Provides guidance and supervision to subjects on

swabbing as requested. Collects completed swabs and passes them to the

Processing Operatives. Ensures cleaning of the test area between each test.

processing of a Lateral Flow Test (LFT) and interprets result. Provides

results to the Results Recorder. Ensures cleaning of processing bays.

If you wish to express your interest in helping the college to deliver this scheme then

please email hr@pca.ac.uk, with details of your role preference and availability.  It

would also be useful to have some indication of any experience you might bring to

these roles.
