Co-ordinator, Fair and Equitable programme - Contemporary Visual Arts Network

CVAN is seeking a passionate and dedicated visual arts professional to collaborate and work closely with the Consultant Producer, Dr Cecilia Wee, to support the smooth running of the Fair and Equitable programme. This role is part of the Baltic’s national sector development plan and is contracted through the charity, managed by the Director but sits outside the core business of the BALTIC Centre of Contemporary Art. About CVAN Contemporary Visual Arts Network, England, represents and supports a diverse and vibrant visual arts ecology across nine regions from Cornwall to Cumbria. We are a lobbying and sector support organisation representing galleries, institutions, studios, artist-led spaces, artists, and art workers. Our role covers assets, infrastructure, and independent practice. Rooted in regionality, our free to access network is a space for the visual arts to be heard, valued, and recognised so the sector can thrive. We mobilise, energise and support regions and arts workers to build momentum and advocate for the value of the arts. We collaboratively question, listen, participate, and discuss to deliver precise answers, taking this insight to influence policy change. We strive for fair and equitable practice. CVAN England, the national network, is part of the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art and works with a national Visual Arts Alliance, University Alliance and across the Department for Culture Media and Sport, and Arts Council England. Salary: Freelance, £150 a day for 24 days over 4-5 months (1.5 days a week), with the opportunity to extend beyond this period.
